Bajaj Auto India has introduced the much-anticipated Bajaj Pulsar NS 400Z in the Indian market, with an introductory price starting from Rs 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom). This new model is touted as the most powerful Bajaj Pulsar ever produced and is also the most budget-friendly 400cc street-naked motorcycle available. Bookings for the bike have commenced at a nominal fee of Rs 5000, and interested buyers can secure their unit either online or by visiting their nearest dealership, with deliveries expected to commence shortly.
Under the hood, the NS 400Z is equipped with a 373cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, delivering 39.4bhp of power at 8,800rpm and 35Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and features an assist and slipper clutch, similar to the setup used in the Bajaj Dominar 400.
Visually, the NS 400Z appears to be an evolution of the NS200, sporting LED projector headlights with thunderbolt-style daytime running lights (DRLs), a generously sized fuel tank with integrated extensions that overlap the radiator, and carbon fiber stickers on the shrouds. The side and rear profiles bear a resemblance to the NS 200 but with sharper design elements.
In terms of features, the bike is equipped with LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster offering Bluetooth connectivity and a dedicated app for displaying incoming calls, missed calls, SMS notifications, and turn-by-turn navigation. It also boasts switchable traction control, four ride modes (Road, Rain, Sport, and Off-road), dual-channel ABS, and adjustable levers.
The NS 400Z rides on a perimeter frame, supported by a 43mm USD fork at the front and a gas-charged, preload-adjustable mono-shock at the rear. Braking performance is handled by a 320mm disc up front and a 230mm disc at the rear, ensuring optimal stopping power and control.
